At the time I created their newsletter, The Iguanas were making the transition to national prominence, from being one of the most popular bands in New Orleans. The newsletter promoted concert appearances in venues ranging from Rock 'n Bowl to the Jazz and Heritage Festival in New Orleans, to a summer-long tour of concert sheds and state fairs with Jimmy Buffet. Content included contests and quizzes, merchandise offers, features and an appearance calendar - all the things you'd find on a web site, if there had been such a thing at the time. Lizard Tales was mailed to fan club members and radio stations, and handed out at shows.
